Our Working K9s come from a variety of backgrounds and training methodologies.
SRD K9s consist of Narcotics Detection K9s, Live Find K9s, Article Search K9s, Tracking K9s, and Human Remains Detection K9s (HRD).
RANGER

Ranger comes to us from Saskatchewan. He is a strong working Yellow Lab with lots of energy. Ranger has had many searches over the years and is still going strong. We do between 50 and 80 searches a year. The Kamloops area keeps us busy; however, we will travel wherever we can if someone needs our help. I look forward to meeting you in the future. Please stay safe out there.
Ranger is Validated by the RCMP for Wilderness Search and is also validated for Narcotics for the private security industry.
MARA

Mara is a chocolate lab born in Saskatchewan. She is a super friendly young lady who loves to meet new people. Always up for a wilderness search, she is happy and ready to go wherever the team takes her. She especially enjoys working alongside her other teammates and their handlers!
Mara is Validated by JIBC for Narcotics detection and is a valued member of our cold case search team.
ROGUE

𝐈𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞
Dec. 17, 2019 – Sept. 18, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the sudden loss of Rogue, who passed away unexpectedly from an undetected liver tumour.
Rogue was a certified K9 who recertified multiple times over her career. She was the embodiment of drive, determination, and heart — a dog who lived to work and gave everything she had to every search.
As a proud member of SRD K9s, she dedicated countless hours alongside Monique in the search for missing loved ones, helping bring closure to families during their darkest moments. Her work was nothing short of heroic, and her presence was a comfort and a beacon of hope for so many.
Rest easy, Rogue. Your legacy lives on in every life you touched.
You were — and always will be — our hero. 💔🐾
ASHER

Asher is from a reputable Border Collie breeder in Montana, USA. His lineage includes many proven search & detection K9s. This little man is such a love bug, and charms everyone with that huge (and charming) smile!
Asher was certified in October 2024 with SARDUS (Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States) for both Land Cadaver Airscent and Area Search / Large Quantity HRD.
STELLA

Stella is from a reputable breeder in Kamloops, B.C. She is a distant relative to Airbud, the Walt Disney Superstar! Stella is a happy-go-lucky gal, always eager to play games and makes training fun!
She shows promise in her training to become a Human Remains Detection (HRD) dog!
RIP

Rip, a Belgian Malinois/Dutchie X coming from central Alberta, always has energy for another search. His keen nose can find a Hawkins Cheesy hundreds of meters away.
Residing in Dawson Creek, BC, Rip has plenty of opportunities to search for the train station.
Rip is validated by the RCMP for Wilderness Search. He is also in pursuit of a Wilderness Human Remains profile.
DIXIE

Meet Dixie! She’ll be turning one in December 2025. Dixie is a Springer Spaniel eager to begin her training as an HRD dog! She’s a busy girl, and once she sets her mind on a task, nothing can stop her from getting it done. Her biggest motivators are balls and treats, and she shows off the classic Spaniel “out and back” style to cover ground. We can’t wait to watch her progress!
